PRESS RELEASE FOR TOWN OF CLAYTON
“Shop Local Clayton” Campaign 2013
We are committed to keeping local dollars within the community to provide essential funding for public services, jobs and community activities as well as raising the awareness that shopping local doesn’t just mean shopping at local retail stores, but also shopping local for a doctor, business service, realtor, mechanic, hair stylist, etc.
The Shop Local Clayton campaign, which kicked off in the Fall of 2011, started off by distributing informational literature about the campaign to local businesses and residents in an effort to gain sponsors and community support. In addition, the following advertising was put into effect; billboard ad, social media, website directory, newspaper ads, Google ad words, event promotions, festivals, and email marketing, which played an important role in the success of the campaign. The Shop Local Clayton campaign began with the financial support of The Town of Clayton and local businesses as well as funds donated by The Clayton Chamber of Commerce and its members. However, in moving forward, the Shop Local Clayton campaign will be searching for additional business sponsors for 2013.
Talk to your friends, family and neighbors. Tell them the Shop Local Clayton Campaign makes a difference and encourage them to visit the directory of businesses at www.shoplocalclayton.com for their shopping needs.
The Town of Clayton and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce also want to remind area residents that they can make a difference, in keeping the local economy strong, by spending their dollars locally whether it is retail dollars or professional service investments. Let’s do our part to promote local Clayton businesses in an effort to stimulate the town’s economy.
